Our Charitable Programme
At our shopping centres we work energetically to involve the local community and contribute to local community development.
Each centre in our portfolio runs its own unique charitable programme of fundraising activities as part of The Mall Cares programme. Each project is planned and delivered at a local level in conjunction with a local partner, and driven by local needs and concerns.
In addition to this core programme of charitable work, our centres allow other local charities to benefit from the footfall in our centres through appropriate charitable collections. In the last 6 years over £1.5 million pounds has been raised under the Mall Cares banner.
In 2016 we supported the following local charities: Lancashire Mind, East Anglian Air Ambulance, Kids N Cancer, Walthamstow Toy Library & Play Centre, Haringey Shed, Primrose Hospice and Sunnyside Rural Trust and raised over £280,000 across the portfolio. Over the course of the year, The Mall, Luton worked hard to support local charities and the community, raising over £60,000 including nearly £17,000 for our Charity of the Year, East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).
