On Saturday, the 14th of October, Gyle Shopping Centre marked a significant milestone – its 30th birthday! The day was filled with joy, laughter, and an array of activities that brought our community together in celebration.
Live Entertainment and Performances
The festivities kicked off with live entertainment from Forth 1, creating a vibrant atmosphere with fantastic music and engaging hosts. Adding to the excitement, a local choir group graced us with a heartwarming performance that resonated with the spirit of community and togetherness.
Fun for the Little Ones
Children were at the heart of the celebration with delightful face painting and balloon modelling activities. The little ones’ faces lit up with joy as they transformed into their favourite characters and animals, thanks to the talented face painters. Meanwhile, the balloon artists crafted whimsical creations that brought smiles all around.
Sweet Treats and Exciting Games
No birthday celebration is complete without a sweet treat! Our community indulged in delicious cupcakes, adding a sugary touch to the festivities. To amp up the fun, we organized games where participants had the chance to win the contents of numbered bags, making the day even more thrilling.
Halloween Delights and Charity Support
As we looked forward to Halloween, the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC) joined us with a special stall. The ECHC stall featured Halloween-themed games, additional face painting, and opportunities to snap photos with lookalike characters. It was a spooktacular addition that delighted both children and adults alike. Importantly, any donations made at the stall went directly to supporting the children’s hospital, combining festive fun with a noble cause.
