From May 20-28, we dedicated ourselves to observing Period Poverty Week, shedding light on an issue that affects countless women and girls worldwide. Our goal was to raise awareness and foster a sense of community support around the challenge of period poverty.
In this endeavour, we proudly highlighted our ongoing collaboration with Hey Girls, a remarkable social enterprise committed to tackling period poverty in the UK. As part of this partnership, we have installed dispensers stocked with free Hey Girls sanitary products in our restrooms. These products are available to anyone who needs them, ensuring that no one has to face the indignity or health risks of inadequate menstrual hygiene.
But our commitment goes even further. For every product we purchase from Hey Girls, they donate an equivalent product to their community partners. This means that each time you use a Hey Girls product in our facilities, you are also helping someone in need gain access to essential menstrual supplies. It’s a simple yet powerful way to promote dignity, health, and equality for all women.
Period poverty is not just about the lack of menstrual products; it’s about the broader implications on education, employment, and overall quality of life. By providing free sanitary products, we aim to break down one of the barriers that many women face daily. Our efforts are a step towards ensuring that menstruation does not impede anyone’s ability to lead a healthy, productive life.
We invite you to join us in this important cause. Every action, no matter how small, contributes to a larger movement towards equality and empowerment. Together, we can make a significant impact, one period at a time.
