Mark Bourgeois named as Junior Vice President of the BCSC

Capital & Regional executive director Mark Bourgeois has been named Junior Vice President of retail property's leading representative group BCSC.

Mark will become BCSC President in 2017 having played a key role in rewarding best practice in the sector as Chair of BCSC's Gold Awards Jury. The announcement of his role was made at December 3's BCSC Annual Dinner and Presentation of the Gold Awards.

I look forward to the coming three years as part of a stellar presidential team at BCSC with a shared aim of positive change for our sector and its trade body.

Mark will succeed Hammerson chief executive David Atkins, who will be BCSC President in 2015, and Land Securities portfolio director Suzi Clay, who will be President in 2016.

Mark said: "There has never been a more important time for our industry to stand together, share knowledge and celebrate its achievements as retail property continues to evolve and position itself at the heart of the multi-channel marketplace.

"I look forward to the coming three years as part of a stellar presidential team at BCSC with a shared aim of positive change for our sector and its trade body."

Addressing almost 1,000 guests at the Gold Awards dinner in London, David Atkins called retail property a `national success story', pledged a period of `growth and renewal' at BCSC, and to ensure property gets a fair hearing with national decision makers during an election year.
