Stuart Laidlaw, Capital & Regional's National Technical Facilities Manager, has been appointed as the new Chair of the BCSC Low Carbon Working Committee.

The aim of the group is to represent the views of BCSC members to a wider audience and to influence decision making in carbon sustainability. The committee also produce guidance as well as undertaking research projects, running events for the benefit of members and their interests and to offer a varied spectrum of support services to better address asset sustainability in the retail property sector. Having been a member of the group for over eight years, Stuart will now hold the position of Chair for the next three.

He commented: "I'm very pleased with my appointment and I look forward to building on the fantastic work that group members have achieved so far. We have some promising projects in the pipeline and we hope to bring clarity to the industry on what's important in a confusing low carbon landscape."
