Turkish restaurant Gökyüzü selects Walthamstow for second outlet

We are pleased to announce that terms have been agreed and exchanged with Turkish restaurant Gökyüzü and stationery provider Smiggle at The Mall Walthamstow.

Gökyüzü has agreed to occupy a 6,500 sq ft unit formerly occupied by BHS on a 15 year lease. The new restaurant will be Gökyüzü’s second outlet in London following on from the success of its first restaurant situated on Green Lanes.

Gökyüzü is owned and run by the Yavuz family in the popular Green Lanes area of Haringey and was established in 1999 by Hasan Yavuz. The restaurant has received high praise for its fine Turkish cuisine and outstanding grill menu. The restaurant has also been reviewed national media such as The Times, The Daily Mail and The Evening Standard who ranked the restaurant second best place to eat behind Gordon Ramsay's Petrus.

Terms have also been agreed with stationery chain Smiggle for a 850 sq ft store on a 10 year lease. The new store will open in August and will provide fashion-forward stationery and office supplies, bags, lunchboxes and drink bottles.

The new deals follow on from commitments by Lidl and The Gym Group who have both taken units also previously occupied at The Mall Walthamstow.

Sian Bowen, Asset Manager at Capital & Regional, said: “Gökyüzü will further develop our tenant mix for our loyal customers and adds to our transformational plans for a location that is evolving as one of London's most vibrant neighbourhoods. We are delighted to be welcoming them both to the town centre.”
